While everyone is excited about 50's return to the hard core with his new album. (Cant front. The joint is MEAN. You NEED that), I'm excited about the goodies that go with it. Included with Before I Self Destruct are two movies. 50's directorial debut, Before I Self Destruct, and a documentary about the legendary DJ of RUN DMC, Jam Master Jay.
50 has made crafted a media persona around the fact that he gives a raw uncut opinion about everything. So in the spirit of the movie’… Continue

We are just trying to do our part for the cause. Got a chance to be at the latest Noisemakers. For those of you that dont know its kinda like Inside The Actor Studio for Hip Hop. Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg and his team put this on and have yet to disappoint. With cats like this on stage how can they? This time Talib Kweli and Rosenberg chop it up about Rawkus, Jay-Z, and what it means to grow up Brooklyn. Shout out to Nick Rosenberg.
Blackstonian was present today, Mon. Oct. 19th for the press conference held by MAMLEO (Mass. Assoc. of Minority Law Enforcement Officials) as they stated and affirmed a majority member no-confidence vote in current Mayor Menino and BPD Commissioner Ed Davis. The BPD has a horrible record of diversity showing a lack of opportunity for advancement of Black & Latino Officers to high positions within the Boston Police Department.
Larry Ellison, President of MAMLEO outlined the problems of Black… Continue

I am saddened to have to write again in a public response to the continued misrepresentations, false information and outright lies presented by MC Spice.
Spice has spent the last weeks intensifying his personal campaign against me, Jamarhl Crawford, all spawning from my attempts to assist a young lady who he swindled out of $2400 and subsequently became aggressive and threatening with. Since that time, there have been apologies issued, which Spice then claims not having written, and there have… Continue

Once again, I find myself having to respond to statements made by MC Spice in order to provide clarity and truth for the community in order to properly deal with this situation and individual. I believe firmly in the need for honesty in our community, which has been long manipulated by BS & Con artists, Poverty Pimps and fake leadership in the corporate, non-profit, political and religious sectors. Many people have asked why am I going to this length to expose this situation. It is simply th… Continue

The Blackstonian, your community News source took an excursion to the Island of Martha's Vineyard to get some footage of President Barack Obama.....
as you can probably figure.. that didnt work out too well...
but we did hear stories of brief encounters and we had a couple of close calls and "you just missed him"
All in all, anytime we can get to Martha's Vineyard and enjoy some different scenery is a good thing.
All work and no play makes Jamarhl a dull boy.
So while we didn't catch a photo of… Continue

My People of Boston,
It actually pains me to write this, but it has become clear that there is no other alternative.
When things are done in darkness the only way to expose it is by shining bright light directly on it.
Those of you who know me may have varying opinions as to my intent, methods, motives or may just straight out not like… Continue

It sucks when you are trying to give people something good on a regular basis like I try to. You have to wade through some trash. I wont lie. When I saw the name I was nervous… Continue
